Explanation of in house tests:
Nutritional Risk Assessment Test: check for nutritional deficiencies and metabolic imbalance. Some tests are performed in office, such as urine, saliva PH, and blood pressure. The doctor may send you out for blood work, or give you take home kits for saliva or stool testing. A nutritional risk assessment will be done prior to any testing, by first having a consultation and physical with the doctor.
Digestion: This test determines the undigested foods in the bowel, inflammation in the bowel, and excessive bad bacteria in the bowel. This means your digestion is slow, and food is “rotting” in your bowel, allowing bad bacteria to form. This leads to toxins developing, which can affect your absorption of nutrients, and affect your overall health, including symptoms of skin rash, allergies, and stomach problems.
Free Radicals: This test determines the free radical damage which is occurring in your body. Excessive free radicals can cause stress to the liver, kidneys, and contribute to onset of cancer, it also ages the skin, and is associated with degenerative diseases, such as arthritis, and heart disease.
Calcium: This test determines if your kidneys are excreting calcium in the urine. If you are, you may develop osteoporosis later. Calcium is vital for heart beat, muscle contraction, producing hormones, and energy metabolism, as well as bone growth and repair. This test helps determine if you are low in calcium or if you are losing calcium too fast.
Vitamin C Test: This test will determine if you are deficient in vitamin C. Vitamin C is crucial to immune system, vascular health, joints and connective tissue, and is a powerful anti-oxidant.
Urine Chemistry Tests: The chemistry strip tests 10 things- specific gravity, PH, white blood cells, nitrates, protein, glucose, ketones, urobilinogen, bilirubin, and blood. These help rule out serious disorders, such as kidney damage, liver problems, diabetes, infection, and PH imbalance.
Blood tests may be ordered though local labs to check for Cholesterol, Glucose, liver enzymes, anemia, hormones, and more . Diet and supplements may be recommended if abnormal findings.
ADRENAL SUFFICIENCY TEST:
This tests for abnormal drop or rise in blood pressure from sitting to standing. A drop is considered “orthostatic hypotension”, usually due to lack of electrolytes in the blood. A high rise is due to hyper active adrenals - often from stimulants like caffeine, sugar, or artificial sweeteners.
Saliva Test: PH test strip to check for high acid or high alkalinity. Most people tend to be too acidic, due to poor dietary habits. High chronic acidity leads to increase in degenerative disease, such as arthritis, arteriosclerosis, and skin wrinkles.
